Big Thirsty Aussies

Does it get any better than this? A bit worried about how grown up Tory is looking though(help). Kaiya is doing a project on frill-necked lizards for school, fortunately we have friends in the reptile business eh? The winter sports season has begun Tory lost her first soccer game but they played really well. Kaiya's first netball game is next Saturday. No weekends away for a while (except Easter at Jo Anns). Well, with ears peirced and sport going strong everyone here is feeling good.... except poor Boris who just finished 2 weeks of 6am starts and Saturday working.... and as if that's not enough, today is probably his last day off for a couple of weeks. The final days of a boats construction are trying ones! Well, off to start the next week....

Well here we go, not even Sunday and I am back! I have had a few days work over the last week (and there was much rejoicing... yeah!!). I am hoping for more after the Easter holidays, I now have my name down at more of the local schools and it looks promising. The girls have had their ears pierced over the last week and are very happy about it. Terry and Cathy are starting a blog now Woo Hoo. they can be found on the geriatric grandparents area of blogger at northcoast news and Jackie is on board as well. I sincerely hope we can keep this up and not let it become a passing phase. For me it is sometimes a way in which I can be back home with everyone and know what is happening in your lives (although they seem to be just as mundane as mine- this is a good thing). It is just good to feel like I can be a bit "there". Well by now it is probably obvious that I have had a couple of wines (beer doesn't make one quite as sentimental), so I will be off to sleep.... need to save s...

Well, here I am in front of the computer with a beer in my hand, it must be Sunday arvo(afternoon for us yanks). The girls are starting Their own blogs this week as they have a computer competition coming up and the more ways they can practise the better. Lets face it as well, it is the times in which we live!!!! Tory's Place , and Sekaiya's Place .Started the netball and soccer season this past week, so far only a couple of training sessions but it will all be in full swing soon. They will soon have thTeir own e-mail accounts through the dept. of Education as well. when we get these details, I am certain they will love to get an occasional note from all of you. G'day one and all, another good week has passed us by down this end. Soccer and Netball training are about to begin so we will soon be much busier. I think the grass has nearly stopped growing (it could just be the lack of rain though). Still having some good beach days though. We had to go to the lagoon at the creek today as there were to many "blue bottles" on the open beach. These are the little jellyfish type units pictured here. They aren't poisonous, but the pack a mighty sting! They come in with the Nor'easter on the really big tides from time to time. Not very often in the bay thank goodness. The boogie boards however, are not quite as useful in the calmer waters. Went for a ladies night out for international woman's day on Friday. I had noooo idea that we had so many hardcore feminists in our area hmm...(not the group I was with mind you). I am still not entirely convinced on the whole women's lib issue. I am trying to figure it out: tell me agai...

We had a good weekend in the "big smoke", we went to a family get together on the western edge of Sydney. It was sort of a reunion type of a thing with all of Colin's (Boris's Dad) sisters and his brother. A great place with a shed full of old autos, and more. we got to take a ride in this 1919 Rolls..... the door handles were pure silver. Many of these have been used in movies when they needed old cars. The girls got to meet some second(third?) cousins of their own age so they had a great time as well(not to mention the horses). A good barbeque, a cold beer, and a game of cards(500 and beginners luck worked for me)....a successful weekend all around. This is if you don't count the three hour drive home today.
