Big Thirsty Aussies

So who else had a wine glass broken by a Santa on a bike throwing lollies? I can't help but think that perhaps this means I didn't make the "nice" list. This was a fundraiser for our local volunteer fire brigade. All is well on the southern front we are heading to Coff's Harbour area on Friday but I will talk to many of you before that. When what to my wondering eyes should appear.... A large group of Santas on bikes drawing near, We went to the road, glasses raised up for toasting, These wonderful "firies" that keep us from roasting, From the truck in the rear the lollies were flying "Over here!Over here! the children were crying... Right towards My wine glass a lolly was flashing, It hit with a quick sharp crashing and smashing! Their aim it was true, but so are their hearts, For they face the heat when bushfires start. So if you see a Santa peddling along, Give them a cheer to help them go on! I hear on the news 'twill be a bad fire season.....

We have been very busy over the last couple of weeks here with work/school/holiday prep/etc... as I suppose everyone is at this time of year. I have been combatting this by walking at sunrise on the beach, helps to make the day start on the right note! Sekaiya went to Sydney with another girl to recieve a certificate for the school from "the Honourable Morris Iemma MP" our state premier. This was for the premiers reading challenge. The kids had to read so many books in so much time and our school did well. The pan is to show the sad fact that pumpkins don't grow in cans in Australia and I had to boil one down to make a simple pie. Thanksgiving came complete with football, although it was rugby it was still a game. We went bush for our tree this year as they were too costly due to the drought but I think we got a pearler just the same. It is the top bit of the centre tree with the skinny trunk.
