Big Thirsty Aussies

  There is a naval base on the bay and they have training days from time to time(this is good as I wouldn't want to rely on untrained soldiers should the need arise). I liked this photo so you get to see it. We have had a good week here, HOT....HOT....HOT..., but cooler weather seems to be on the way. Pat, I talked to Michelle, and if you can't depart during the burning season, she may well have room in her freezer until shipping. Just let us know if you prefer Idaho (Idaho!?!). Well I guess it could be Iowa. I had my first successful voice chat today with Greg(g). Good to work these things out. I have enjoyed looking at the Hawaii photos and videos this week as this is the first I have seen any of them. Now, I can't put the right face with the right name, but John's boys look like a different group of young Carrolls I used to know. Hmmm..... Well off to get a cold beer and warm cuddle take care one and all.

Well, we are trying to post what is only a photo log of the girls and other bits and pieces of our lives. I know that it gets to be a bother to look at so many blogs (and to post them as well). I dont know how long this one will last just wanted to give it a try. The photos are mainly there for Grandma since I am horrible at sending hard copies (sorry Mom I do mean too), but any and all who have a spare moment are welcome to have a browse through them at your leisure, the day to day of our lives will continue to be posted here at the thirsty site! Having said all that a fairly slow week here. Tory went off to camp(Her schools version of "singing river ranch"). Which made me recall how the Eberhardt woman bounced(not the same as when she was shakin those 'simmons down)and Brian Brazzell and I only survived the nature hike because our Mom's were there , everyone else in our group were dead ducks. This the grass out the back the top and bottom photos are out the front, good for the girls but a pain to mow. Not so bad in winter but we always have a lot of branches etc. to burn and leaves as well. So in a pinch if you cant get to Idaho Pat we can arrange a pyre here somehow. It just can't be between Sept. and March because our freezer is not that big and we arent allowed to burn then. The chairs are situated under the gin tree where the dappled shade on a hot sunny day is perfect for a refresher.

  This is our new great niece Cheyenne Joyce (last name undecided as of yet). For those of you who have met them, she is Terry and Cathy's granddaughter and Emily and Chris' little bundle of joy(for those who haven't met them Terry is Boris's older brother). Both Mum and Bub are doing really well. I think 2005 must have been a good year for breeding, so many new beautiful little things about. 

Well it looks like we are cropping now woo!! hoo!!! We have had dribs and drabs but its all coming up spicy now. The little guys pack a powerful punch (both in and out). I guess its time to dust off the old food dryer again . We also have a S***load of herbs to dry as well so I am looking forward to the aromas.... We only managed about 8 varieties this year but all good ones(this is down from 17 last year). The dry and the heat pretty much wiped out the rest of the garden. Mike, I'm looking for the reasons why chiles are better than men (its a long list). You are all invited for a spicy dinner!

  Well, we managed to have a video chat...some of us were only typing, but it seemed to work alright just the same. The girls have their school swimming carnival this coming Friday and seem to be really excited about it. They aren't really all that competitive, but they have a good time so it works out ok. School sport is very different here. Every kid competes within the school and the top few go on to compete against the other local schools then so on and so on. There is no after school practise or events, it is all in school hours and each kid has to have a go (no trying out or joining a team). The girls do alright at cross-country and athletics but their swimming skills are limited to being in the surf, not really racing. Tory has a mean body surf up already! Keep in mind that I am not a swimmer myself at all.
