Big Thirsty Aussies

Quick recap of Nov/Dec Tory had her year twelve formal and graduation. I caught a whiting (that was delicious and a flathead that I didn't keep). The garden is flourishing. Jalapeno Tequila Cranberry sauce part of a successful Thanksgiving. Mangrove walk at the Denman We have increased our bird life, with this spoonbill showing up and 3 types of honeyeaters... these are the New Holland enjoying a dip in the bath. Out to the Christmas tree farm for our annual pick. And now to everyone enjoy your holiday and new year!

Had another great walk followed up with our first swim of the season, water was beautiful. The girls had a swim off the jetty the other day as well when it was hot, bring on summer! Todays walk was at Iluka in the national park.  a puffer fish that was left with the tide. a rather tedious video of dolphins but it is soooo hard to get them to cooperate! will post vid later technical issues (beer, Sunday arvo, etc...) this is a lovely little kingfisher recovering after a shot at the glass door, camera can't really pick up his beautiful colouring. Also a big " we are very proud of you" goes out to Tory who was accepted into Woollongong University for her bachelor of Science. and, so as it was too windy to cast a line, Sunday arvo sees us enjoying the weather from the verandah.

Continuing our Sunday walks saw us out at Cudmirrah Beach  last week, where we came upon 3 Hooded Plovers , there are only 50 of these birds in NSW so we felt pretty lucky to see 3. The beach is meant to have one pair so one must have been a baby. Back at home we have our own little baby hanging around. A young Little Wattle bird. The Navy had its 100 year fleet review  in Sydney but on their way they had a day in the bay. There were about 20 warships all up in bay it was pretty cool.  Then Grand final weekend up at Jo's place. Pity about Manly losing but I did get to see another Bronco game (we won!). Had a walk up to the top of the property and around the old wool-shed, magnificent views what a great spot to be standing and looking around. The sun on trees as we took our Sunday walk along Canyonleigh Rd. In there at some point we also had some fishing. Had a bit of a sprinkle but never turned into enough ...

Let's see... since May... Have not done a whole lot. June came in cool but sunny... spent non working- netball days on the jetty with a cold beer and a line in. Then it started to rain: and it rained some more and the jetty: Going... Going... Going... and GONE! We left the jetty under water to head North for the Winter Carnival (always a good time) and a couple hands of card. The way the games were going I should have called the 2 of Diamonds! Then we had a great visit from those both North and South... It was really good to have "little People " around. We have begun enjoying  Sunday walks in the national park again always great things to see.  Here are some pics from our first beach walk of the season on Iluka Beach, had the feets in the water for the first time in months and it felt great! Still a bit cold to swim but not long now. Looking back at the only 2 sets of prints on beach- Ours! Looking out ...
