Big Thirsty Aussies

Well we are in the new house with only a few more months of unpacking to go (or so it would seem. We will now be able to ride bikes or walk to school. Easy for those of you who may be in shape but for the girls it is a 3k ride in and a 3k ride home. For me it is a3k ride in and then home twice a day. I forgot what pain was. We wont even go into the saddle sores......But no pain no gain right? Plus the bike path runs along the bay so it is a nice ride. The photo is the view out our kitchen window.

Hello all, we have been a bit busy as of late, so I just thought I should put something up here. We are moving next Friday/Saturday back into Vincentia. As much as we have enjoyed living on acreage and having the space there is really more to life than mowing the lawn. I can look out my new kitchen window at the bay and what could be better than a walk on the beach as the full moon rises... A bottle of a good red and a warm summer breeze....... It should take us 1/2 an hour to mow once a month as apposed to the hour a day required at present. as for the photo it shows you what the girls have been up to. there are more distinctions but alas they are packed.

Well, our big event for the week was watching Kaiya's netta team play an exhibition game at the Entertainment center in Woollongong before the Swifts game(the Sydney netball team). I have never watched a professional game before it was really exciting,and all the girls really enjoyed themselves as well. The swifts warming up. The girls with "Swifty" -team mascot Nothing else exciting here-oh yeah, rain! At this rate the ground won't dry out until November. What this country could use is a good drought ;^} Don't forget to check out The W Phlog as I am slowly getting our Holiday shots put up.

Well what a great holiday we had. Finally starting to see a bit more of the land of Oz. the weather we experienced ranged from the scraping ice off the windows to shorts and t-shirt (I wish I had packed some)type weather. I will include a few photos here but more will be posted on THE W PHLOG over the next week or so. -- First stop Wentworth falls, and the 3 sisters. The Mexican restaurant in the photos used to be the Quarter Deck that Boris' folks owned and they lived out the back for 8-9 years of his life (He reckons its gotten much smaller). the 3 sisters Casa Juanita --Our plans to camp the first 2 nights out were cancelled as it was raining to hard to get out and set up a camp ( I blame this on the Strahl camping genes ), so we got a cabin at Oberon instead. This is near Jenolan caves, which were the first step in our grand adventure. Lots of steps, had a 10 story climb before entering the caves but they were spectacular, the photos don't do it justice. -- Next stop Dubb...

The Wagon Queen Family Truckster. You think you hate it now, but wait till you drive it. Woo ! Hoo ! finally, time for our grand adventure. We may post when we hit Coff's, if not stay tuned for 2 weeks time. I am so excited as this is our first big camping/ holiday that isn't just to Coff's(although one can't complain about those-- only the livers can or liver scan which ever fits the bill at the time). Winter is here and the bromilliads are in bloom. I dont know if that spelling is correct and frankly my dear...... Anyway a busy couple of weeks here. After all the rain a big weekend of make-up games for soccer (Tory scored a goal) and the usual netball (Kaiya scored as well). We spent the long weekend up the hill at Joanns place and met her newest addition :Criquet the farm poodle! The ice on the fenceposts was good to look at (mind you I looked at it through the window near the fire). We have had a bit of frost here as well but it seems to warming up a bit this week so far. The girls had a disco on Friday night so they went off to school tired from a long fun weekend.

Not a whole lot of excitement down this way lately. Both girls were chosen to speak at the Education Week assembly. They also had some art on display for the local Art Festival "See Change". okay thats enough prideful boasting for now. If they could only clean their rooms........ We have had about 5 days of solid heavy rain unfortunately only here coastally and not where it is really needed. We are looking forward to our big adventure in July. Out camping and sight seeing. People have said we are crazy for camping in the winter, but they have never camped in Colorado in the summer where the nights are colder than what we will be expecting. Jeez, really, you just take the proper equipment. We hope to see Jenolan Caves, Western PLains Zoo as well as the Warumbungles The Gold coast and of course the usual July revelry with those Williams up North. With a lot of stuff along the way.
