Big Thirsty Aussies

Well it really doesn't get much better than staying in your PJs all day and looking out at the rain and just having a "chill out" day. Boris did a bit of puttering /cage building(for the reptiles) in the shed, I mucked around at the computer, and the girls just played around in their jammies what a great day..... Outside it was windy and rainy and all around good Sunday weather!

Well, I went to see Dwight Yoakam on Sunday(yes Mike, He sings both kinds of music). Still really entertaining. I didn't run up to the stage to get a photo, nor did I hurl any type of under garment either. Amazing how a man of 50 can still shake it so darn well(or is it because I am a gal of 40........ Nah). We had a lovely visit with the Aunty J's as well so a good weekend all around. Took Criquette the farm poodle to the beach for her first visit. The blur may give you an idea of how much she enjoyed visiting the coast! Here too are photos from our walk and the Bower bird's bower (see previous post) now that I figured out the posting in beta. I am working on a before and after garden blog thingo (no!!! not another blog)but it is really just going to be a journal to go with the hard copy of the annual garden diary(obsessive compulsive disorder perhaps)so I will give out the address but will not expect an enraptured audience(its just dirt for pitys sake).

As winter decided to drop back in for a visit today we ignored the beach and took off for the bush. We had a lovely walk around the lake in the Botanic gardens of Booderee National Park. It was a trail we had never taken before and was very enjoyable. We came across a red-bellied black snake, but he got took off before we could get a good photo. They are venomous but non-aggressive. We also spotted a Satin Bower bird with this brilliant bower ready to attract his mate. School started back up after a great spring break last week. We had a very low key break which made it really relaxing. A few bike rides into Husky for ice-creams at the park, a visit from the Northcoasters, and a trip to the farm for Aunty Jos 50th made for a fantastic couple of weeks. Having problems posting images will seek advice from our guru this week.

Well we are in the new house with only a few more months of unpacking to go (or so it would seem. We will now be able to ride bikes or walk to school. Easy for those of you who may be in shape but for the girls it is a 3k ride in and a 3k ride home. For me it is a3k ride in and then home twice a day. I forgot what pain was. We wont even go into the saddle sores......But no pain no gain right? Plus the bike path runs along the bay so it is a nice ride. The photo is the view out our kitchen window.

Hello all, we have been a bit busy as of late, so I just thought I should put something up here. We are moving next Friday/Saturday back into Vincentia. As much as we have enjoyed living on acreage and having the space there is really more to life than mowing the lawn. I can look out my new kitchen window at the bay and what could be better than a walk on the beach as the full moon rises... A bottle of a good red and a warm summer breeze....... It should take us 1/2 an hour to mow once a month as apposed to the hour a day required at present. as for the photo it shows you what the girls have been up to. there are more distinctions but alas they are packed.

Well, our big event for the week was watching Kaiya's netta team play an exhibition game at the Entertainment center in Woollongong before the Swifts game(the Sydney netball team). I have never watched a professional game before it was really exciting,and all the girls really enjoyed themselves as well. The swifts warming up. The girls with "Swifty" -team mascot Nothing else exciting here-oh yeah, rain! At this rate the ground won't dry out until November. What this country could use is a good drought ;^} Don't forget to check out The W Phlog as I am slowly getting our Holiday shots put up.

Well what a great holiday we had. Finally starting to see a bit more of the land of Oz. the weather we experienced ranged from the scraping ice off the windows to shorts and t-shirt (I wish I had packed some)type weather. I will include a few photos here but more will be posted on THE W PHLOG over the next week or so. -- First stop Wentworth falls, and the 3 sisters. The Mexican restaurant in the photos used to be the Quarter Deck that Boris' folks owned and they lived out the back for 8-9 years of his life (He reckons its gotten much smaller). the 3 sisters Casa Juanita --Our plans to camp the first 2 nights out were cancelled as it was raining to hard to get out and set up a camp ( I blame this on the Strahl camping genes ), so we got a cabin at Oberon instead. This is near Jenolan caves, which were the first step in our grand adventure. Lots of steps, had a 10 story climb before entering the caves but they were spectacular, the photos don't do it justice. -- Next stop Dubb...
