Our February

Image
Well, hasn't Feb just flown past and now March is half gone. We have been really busy with school and work (which is a good thing). It has been a great start to school for the girls and I am unexpectedly working 5 days a week. They are not all full days but was not expecting any work until term 2 so happy with it all the same. We have had some beach days, and have been walking off into the local bush 5 nights a week. This latter in a mad attempt to get rid of the holiday flab. Stay tuned for Big Thirsty Aussies version 2.1( a fitter slimmer more streamlined version). Even had our first jog. We are doing the couch to 5k, a 9 week program that should see us at 30 min runs by the end. First day went well then WHAM!!! worst flu in at least 4 years and I have done nothing more strenuous than getting out of bed! Thank goodness that's nearly gone. We had a good weekend up at Aunty Jo's place last weekend, the mist was just spectacular (Hey Barb, like the marine layer hee hee hee)....

And so ends the summer holidays......

Well, one more day before school starts back and both girls will be off to high school. The last week has been really stinking hot! Got a few shots at the beach and Ellie came calling so still had a good time. Spent a couple of days up at Aunty Jo's and the girls had their first driving lessons (on the quad bike). Why country life? picture 1: Bondi beach in the city picture2: our beach same weekend hmmm.... Oh well now back to the day to day as the school year begins. Still, we should be able to have great weekend weather hopefully through Easter, so many days in the water yet to come.

Well well well, look what the cat drug in! ...ME!

Merry Christmas and A happy New Year to all! I certainly hope everyone had as good a time as we did-and still are (minus the holiday traffic). Wow, has it really been since October (shame on me) since I posted. What has happened since then hmmm... Well we have been quite busy with school and work and life in general. The Girls are fantastic and came out with flying colours at the tops of their classes. Tory Dux of all year 7 Kaiya creative writer of the century etc... Our newest addition is a Kangaroo that sleeps under our veranda at night. We call him Gary. We have had the most remarkable King tides this year the banks across the creek were over flowed in spots (wow, thats pretty poor use of the English language over flowed in spots? ) We did the annual trek out to the Real Xmas Tree Farm (parks and wildlife get funny if you just go out in the bush and start chopping down trees). We named this one Sacagawea (don't ask -or correct the spelling). The girls have been teaching Merle t...

Change of Season YAY!!!!!

Image
Well we had our first beach day last Sunday, still a bit cold but really not as bad as past years. Canoe 2 is under construction, gardens are starting, and all is good on the south coast. I will update the garden blog this weekend for those of you that may be interested. We got Dwight a lady friend. Our newest addition is Winona, she walks all over him as you can see and her table manners are a bit rough. We had our first ever attempt at smoking jalapenos to make chipotles and it was a success. Amazing what you can do with an old weber. We bought it from the tip for $10 about 10 yrs ago. It's a pearler. So hopefully my 8 jalapeno plants will bear us many fruit. Also many of the other varieties may prove useful as well. Then the Chipotle en Adobo- yum! We found a great swimming spot a short walk down the creek from home where there are no oysters and the dirt is fairly sandy. The photo are from the phone and really don't do it justice as my colour settings are off. Well enough o...

Well hello all and good to see you. Sorry it has been so long ,pretty busy doing nothing, you know that mundane day to day stuff that keeps you busy. We did have a great visit with Jackie and Goldilo-oops I mean Barb. The girls have all grown up so nicely, another few years and they could be quite dangerous. 4-5-6 club 2001 4-5-6 club 2008 Tory and Kaiya are having great sport seasons. Tory's soccer is off to the final next week and Kaiyas netball goes to the semi finals but are most likely a shoe-in for the final. Sekaiya will be performing in Southern Stars spectacular in a few weeks which is a huge multi school dance thingo. Let's see what else... rain rain and more rain... oh yea and throw a whole h of a lot of wind in with that. Hoping to get a better garden going this year soon. The green house is up and waiting for seeds to go in trays. Come on Spring! We had our annual July Trek up the coast, which was as good as ever. The Bull that terrorized Bellinger Keys: Cathy,Tory...

Now we are truly getting into the colder weather we ventured out to a nearby farm for firewood. This is what we dubbed: "The Chimney Paddock" Sekaiya had a successful birthday-managed to make it through another year. The girls are doing really well at school and are enjoying their winter sports. Growing rapidly as well We enjoyed a great weekend at Aunty Jo's place, good card game Pauline and Colin were there to make a proper 5( I won't put a copy of score sheet here as it may not be suitable for all ages of readers). Pictured here are Phoenix and Smokey- he's the big bloke. The farm: The Garden: The Harvest... mmmmmm pumpkin soup! All in all April was a good one! Even Merle the Girl got to eat: mmmmm.... rat soup!
