Big Thirsty Aussies

Howdy A bit behind here, this is our July holiday.  Our first stop was a night in Blackalls Park where we acquired an extra teenage girl, then off up the coast to Smokey Cape near Hat Head  where we had a dry (yes you read that right)* camping adventure-cold- but dry. Not entirely sure how we survived camping in the past without 4 laptops, 3 ipods and 2 smart phones. The Smokey Cape Lighthouse was fantastic (we may have seen some whales but the water was a bit choppy to be certain). There was some huge surf on the beach and the full moon on the water was  beautiful. My amateur photography doesn't really do it justice. Kookaburras in the old gum tree. I had a trip to Canberra with 32 yr 5-6 kids in May. It is such a beautiful place to visit.   View of city from Mt Ainsley The War Memorial : one of my favourite places. Wall of Remembrance: This was really good and we were able to locate the  Great Grandfathers of a couple of the kids. On the home from some good Autumn/Winter colour. A few weeks ago we lost the white rabbit Allejandro (featured in an earlier post) that hung out in our back garden. We were barely over the mourning period when lo and behold his legacy lives on! I guess He and Consuela bred like ... well.. rabbits! Introducing Fernando and Chiquitita! Boris has been busy at work they have built this sculpture "The Halo!" for a new complex /park/city place : Fras(z)er Park coming to Sydney. 13 Metres high, 12 Metre diameter ring weighing 700 Kilos. From our seats on the South Coast Sunrise April 6 I took a great birthday sunrise walk finishing up with a swim here in the Moona had the place to myself other  than birds and some dolphins. The oysters down the back Dying Easter eggs. We had a great Easter up in the Highlands at Jo's place, Autumn is good there.                                                                          an interesting mushroomy thing Pete, Bella and Lily came to visit and the weather turned out fabulous and we had a great walk from Greenfields Beach to Hyams, followed by a great swim in water still crystal clear and quite warm.
