The Weather With You



In between bouts of coast slashing wind and rain, we were able to make it out for our Sunday walk-about. The pictures of the waterfall are from Yesterday on our venture out to town. It is forcast to continue raining here until next Friday and I should be well and truly sick of it by then! I already am. The combination of big seas and record tides has left not a whole lot of beach left for walking but really good viewing anyhow.




Not sure where the buoy came in from we just found it near the Moona Moona creek mouth. Also found, a hat, a fishing rod, a dead shark(small type), steak knife, and a lot of kelp and good shells! All of the above had barnacles and weed growing on them so had been to sea for quite some time, weather makes for good beachcombing! Oh except the knife which was most likely a clue in a triple murder or something and now is covered with Boris's prints.....He doesn't like prison meatloaf!





It has been the wettest June since 1964, with 2 weeks yet to go! Rain nrings rainbows though.....

I think Boris is safe - at least until the body washes ashore! We need rain. Fire season is off to a good start with one burning near Glenwood Springs already. In the early stages of a string of high 90s for the temps so no relief in site.

Sunday arvo again already!!?????!!!

Well, after a brilliant sunrise we headed off to try and track down the ever elusive whales yet one more time. Armed with new intelligence of time and location we arrived at the ruined lighthouse in the national park at 8am -(yes and on a Sunday too). The first "nature moment" of the day was this Kangaroo pretending we couldn't see her. Up to the top to the old Cape St Goerge lighthouse ruins. Apparently they built it in the wrong spot and it was more of a hazard than a help, so they blew it up with a bit of dynamite and erected a new lighthouse on Point Perpendicular, which you will be able to pick out in the sunrise photo, if not sue the school system for not teaching you what perpendicular means. Second "nature moment" was when we found a couple of feral children at the top. Here is the lighthouse. We pick up in the life of our hero where we last left him. The mother Gaforady dragon is poised to dive and tear the unconscious Logorian into food for her new hatchling (the last of this regal line). Can the young prince wake and save himself? He is the last hope for the kingdom of Coochlia, and all hope lies upon him to befriend the remaining dragons as much needed allies in the war against the Trougopians. Suddenly up over the edge of the nest rises the red head of.... OOPS sorry bout that wrong story. Right now where were we... ah yes July, and the winter school break.  All has been good here except the wind, and it has not been good. Indeed it has been the polar opposite of good. Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale, a tale of a fateful trip.... Our  adventure as part of the "Mooral Creek 9" Ok let's go camping at Mooral Creek for Fish's 50th  sounds good, may rain (always does when we camp) no big deal. Early departure from home Sat a.m. drop girls at Pete and Kylies place in Newcastle, take Pete with us and head for the countryside outside Wingham.  Tent erected and ready to go (other than being wet from the rain pouring in as we set up). and the day progressed (or perhaps digressed): the chair was just not made to hold 3 people!
