Today's adventures included visits to some of our old stomping grounds, Torrey Pines (sigh.... our first date), and Mission Bay Deli where we met.

Tory, Colin, Mike, Sheri, Caiden, Anthony and Kaiya. Kris behind the camera makes up the party.

Toryanna Jean meets Torreyana Pine.
Kris visited this place in '94 and loved it so much that she told her aunt Karen  that if she ever had a daughter she would name her Toryanna. Little did she know about the young buck who at that very moment was jetting in from Sydney,  to fulfill her dream.

Mike, we think we know how you got those boogers on your hat.

Mission Bay Deli and Jake's Tiki Bar. In 1994 Kris worked here and I worked in the boatyard behind. She served cold beer and I was a big thirsty Aussie. How could it not be?
After Tory was born we stayed with Karen on her  Bayliner 28 near the end of the dock on the left. There were always seals on the bait barge in the centre, sometimes they would come right up to the back of the boat. Tory slept in a box wedged under the helm.

Squirrel, pronounced locally as "skwrrrl"

Warning: just 1 of these critters can wipe out an entire crop of Hooterville rutabagas!

Relic from a past life. Very humbling to find the sign still hanging after all these years. It was good to see Kris's old boss and our very good friend Jimmy still there. He said he will have to modify the sign to include Sekaiya.

The trip back to our hotel on I-5. All these cars are travelling mostly at 65mph (100kph) or better (mostly better). There is this volume of traffic most of the time, here and on thousands of other freeways all over the country.

We sure enjoyed seeing you and meeting Tory and Kaiya. Too bad we didn't have more sunshine for you. Enjoy the rest of your trip!
